Chico Senior Softball 2024 Season News:
General News:
The 2024 season began on Monday, April 1st and is now under way. Please check our schedule for all game dates and times. All games are played at Sycamore Field near Caper Acres in Bidwell Park.
Further details and information about our league are available on our FAQ’s and Policy pages. If you still have questions, you can contact the league as listed on our Contact page.
Late 2024 Registration:
As of April 11th, there is 1 available opening in the Open division for a new player. You can register online at our Registration page.
The player registration fee for the 2024 season will be $140.
Any late registers that cannot be placed on a team will be refunded their registration fee.
Team rosters are restricted to a maximum roster size of 13. This means the number of teams are determined each year at our March draft based on the number of registered and paid players. Best efforts will be made to place late registers on a team, but there is no guarantee that players registering & paying after the draft can/will be placed on a team.
Want to play in a 2nd division?
Get a 50% or $70 discount on your 2nd registered division by using the code “Dual24”, again only for your 2nd 2024 division registration. That's $210 to play in 2 divisions!

The 2024 Schedule is on the website, we encourage you to give it a view.
Open: Tues & Thurs Evenings, (24 games + playoffs.)
Veterans: Mon & Wed Evenings. (24 games + playoffs.)
Masters: Tues & Thurs Mornings. (26 games.)
The season's games are played at Sycamore Field, which is located in Bidwell Park near Caper's Acres.
Rainouts or other re-scheduled games may be played on any weekday evening, and/or possibly on another field, as they are available.
League Batting Practices:
Our 2024 league practices begin Monday – Thursday, 4:00pm – 5:00pm before our regularly scheduled games. See our Announcement here for more details.
Who/What is Chico Senior Softball?
2024 marks Chico Senior Softball's 40th season where members of our community and the surrounding area, age 47+ in 2024, can play softball in divisions based on age ranges.
Our 3 age-based divisions are,
• Open: 47 years of age and above.
• Veterans: 55 years of age and above
• Masters: 65 years of age and above
Members of Chico and the surrounding area are all welcome in our league. We do not have any geographical boundary for who we welcome (2023 included a member from Quincy).
We encourage you to check our "About Us" and “FAQ” pages to learn more about what Chico Senior Softball is.

Board Opening:
The Board of Directors still has one open seat for a member preferably from the Open Division. Any 2024 player interested in serving on the board, you don’t need to be an Open player, is encouraged to contact the league’s Board of Directors at [email protected].
2024 Sponsors:
Sponsors are needed to help defray the costs of the 2024 season.
If you, your business, or anybody you know would like to sponsor our league this year the Sponsorship Form is available/downloadable in the Documents/Photos section of this site in both Word (.doc) & pdf formats.
You can also sponsor online under the Sponsors menu or clicking here.
What you get as a sponsor is,
a. Your name on the back of a team's uniform.
(Shirts for the 2024 season have been ordered.)
b. Listed on our Sponsors page.
c. Your logo included on all our page side panels rotated randomly.
d. Your logo rotated randomly in our banner at the top of all pages.
e. All logos on our site include a link to your website.
f. Knowing that you are helping the Chico & North Valley community.
>>> NEW - Carry-Over Items:
Chico Senior Softball has added a new Carry-Over document towards the end of our available documents in our, you guessed it, “Documents” section. Any items that the CSS Board of Directors decides to table until next year are added to this document on a as-needed basis. Once the current season is over the Board of Directors will review and re-visit these items for the upcoming season.
(From the April 11th meeting, a re-visit of the “Foul to Give” rule was added.)

The CSS Board of Directors have made a few rule changes for the 2024 season. The completed version of the 2024 rules is now available on our Documents Page. We encourage all players to review these rules.
There is a summary of all 2024 changes at the end of the document.
Players are always welcomed to provide feedback regarding our league rules by emailing the Board of Directors at [email protected].
